Vaporesso XROS 5

The Vaporesso XROS 5 is the current generation of the XROS pod series, and one of the most-asked-for refillable kits in our shops. This collection covers the three XROS 5 models we stock — the standard XROS 5, the smaller XROS 5 Mini and the touchscreen XROS 5 NANO — along with the XROS pod packs they all take.

Which XROS 5 model?

XROS 5 — £27.99

The standard model: a built-in 1500mAh battery rated for at least a full day of use, 30W maximum output, and USB-C fast charging that refills it in around 35 minutes. It supports both mouth-to-lung and restricted direct-to-lung vaping, with three power modes (Eco, Normal and Power), adjustable airflow, and both inhale and button activation. Pods are 2ml, top-filling, with built-in mesh coils. Paired with a 0.4 ohm XROS pod, the output can be fine-tuned between 15W and 30W.

XROS 5 Mini — £19.99

The compact option, with the same 1500mAh battery in a smaller body. It is inhale-activated with no buttons to think about, detects which pod you have fitted and sets the matching power level automatically, and charges over USB-C in under an hour. The included pod uses Vaporesso's COREX 2.0 mesh coil.

XROS 5 NANO — £34.99

The most featured of the three: a slightly larger 1600mAh battery, a 1.09-inch colour touchscreen showing battery, power mode and puff count, and the same Eco/Normal/Power modes and adjustable airflow. It ships with two 2ml COREX 3.0 mesh pods, in 0.6 and 0.8 ohm. We stock it in the Nacre finish.

The finishes

The standard XROS 5 comes in nine finishes at Electromist: Black Leather, Blue Silk, Brown Leather, Carbon Stripe, Cosmic Black, Jade Green, Lavender Purple, Opal Pink and Opal White. The leather and silk options have a textured panel; the opal and cosmic finishes are smooth. All nine are the same device underneath — same battery, output and pods — so the choice is purely cosmetic.

Pods and compatibility

The XROS 5 and XROS 5 Mini take the XROS COREX 2.0 pod range, which we stock in four resistances, each sold in multipacks at £13.99:

1.2 ohm and 0.8 ohm — the mouth-to-lung options, giving a tighter draw. These suit nic salt e-liquids.
0.6 ohm and 0.4 ohm — looser-drawing pods for restricted direct-to-lung use, designed to give a sweeter result with freebase e-liquids.

All XROS pods are top-filling with a clamshell design and carry Vaporesso's SSS leak-resistant technology. The XROS 5 is compatible with the full range of XROS pods, so pods bought for an earlier XROS device will fit — and the same pod packs serve the XROS 4 and XROS Mini Retro kits we also stock.

What e-liquid suits it?

With the 0.8 or 1.2 ohm pods fitted, the XROS 5 is a low-wattage mouth-to-lung device and pairs naturally with nic salt e-liquids in 10ml bottles. With the 0.4 or 0.6 ohm pods it opens up to freebase liquids and a looser draw. If you are unsure which strength or style fits how you vape, our store teams will talk it through with you.

The wider XROS family

If the XROS 5 is not quite what you are after, the same pod platform runs through the rest of the series we stock. The XROS 4 is the previous generation, available in eight colours (£26.99) with an £18.99 XROS 4 Mini alongside it. The XROS Mini Retro is the pocket option at £9.99, in eight finishes from Baby Blue and Baby Pink through to Space Black and Matte Silver. The XROS Pro 2 sits at the top of the standard line at £29.99. Because they all draw from the same pod range, moving between XROS devices later does not mean starting a fresh set of spares.

Choosing a pod resistance

The resistance printed on the pod is the main decision once you own the kit, and it changes how the device behaves more than any setting does:

1.2 ohm — the tightest draw of the range, closest to a classic mouth-to-lung pod. The usual pick with 20mg nic salts.
0.8 ohm — still mouth-to-lung, slightly warmer and denser than the 1.2. The most common starting point.
0.6 ohm — a looser, restricted direct-to-lung draw; Vaporesso designs this one to bring out sweeter results with freebase liquids.
0.4 ohm — the loosest and most powerful, and the pod that unlocks the 15W–30W adjustable output on the standard XROS 5.

A burnt or muted taste is the usual sign a pod has reached the end of its life rather than a fault with the device — pods are consumables and need replacing periodically whichever resistance you use.

Common questions

What is the difference between the XROS 5 and the XROS 4?

Both are refillable pod kits in the same series and take the same pod range. The XROS 5 is the newer generation with a 1500mAh battery and 30W maximum output; we still stock the XROS 4 in eight colours if you prefer it.

Do my old XROS pods fit?

Yes. The XROS 5 is compatible with the full range of XROS pods, so there is no need to bin spares when upgrading from an earlier XROS kit.

How long does the battery last?

Vaporesso rates the 1500mAh battery for at least a full day on a single charge, and a full recharge over USB-C takes around 35 minutes on the standard model. Real-world life depends on the pod resistance and power mode you use.

Is this a disposable?

No. The XROS 5 is a refillable kit — you keep the device, refill the 2ml pod from a 10ml bottle, and replace the pod only when the coil wears out.

Which of the three models should I pick?

If you want the full feature set — button activation, three power modes and the adjustable 15W–30W output — the standard XROS 5 is the one. If you want the simplest possible device, the Mini drops the buttons entirely and sets its own power level from the pod fitted. The NANO is for anyone who wants the touchscreen, the larger battery and the two included COREX 3.0 pods. All three fill the same way and take the same e-liquids, so none of them locks you into a different routine.
