Replacement vape coils are the heating element inside a tank or pod — the part that turns e-liquid into vapour — and they are a consumable: every coil wears out and needs replacing, typically every one to two weeks depending on how much you vape and which liquid you use. How to find the right coil

Coils are not interchangeable between brands, and usually not between different tanks from the same brand either. The reliable way to find yours is by the tank or kit model, not by resistance or wattage alone:

Find the model name printed on your tank or kit — for example "Nautilus 2S", "PnP" or "Zeus".
Match it to the coil series made for that tank; each listing below names its series.
Then pick a resistance within that series to suit how you vape.

Coil resistance explained: MTL and DTL

The resistance printed on a coil, measured in ohms, tells you what kind of vaping it is built for:

Above 1.0 ohm — mouth-to-lung (MTL) coils: a tighter draw, lower wattage and less vapour, and the natural partner for nic salt and 50/50 e-liquids in 10ml bottles. Examples in our range: VOOPOO PnP TR1 at 1.2 ohm, Aspire Nautilus at 1.8 ohm, Geekvape NS at 1.2 and 1.6 ohm, TECC CS Air at 1.5 ohm and Innokin Endura T18E at 1.5 ohm.
Below 1.0 ohm (sub-ohm) — direct-to-lung (DTL) coils: a looser draw, higher wattage and more vapour, made for high-VG liquids in lower nicotine strengths. Examples: SMOK TFV18 at 0.15 ohm, VOOPOO PnP VM6 at 0.15 ohm, Uwell Valyrian 2 triple mesh at 0.16 ohm and Aspire Cleito at 0.2 ohm.
Around 0.6 to 1.0 ohm — the middle ground, often called restricted direct-to-lung. Coils such as the SMOK Nord Mesh 0.6, VOOPOO PnP M2 0.6 and Aspire Pockex 0.6 sit here, and lean either way depending on your airflow setting.

Matching the coil to your wattage

Every coil has a recommended wattage range printed on its side, and staying inside that range matters more than any other setting. Run a coil above its range and the wick scorches, which is the fastest way to ruin a new coil; run it well below and the flavour goes muted. As a rule of thumb, lower resistance means higher wattage — a 1.2 ohm MTL coil is comfortable at low power, while sub-ohm mesh coils are built for much more. If your device has adjustable wattage, start at the bottom of the printed range and work up until the vapour and flavour sit where you like them.

SMOK

VOOPOO

PnP coils fit across the Drag and Vinci pod-mod ranges: mesh VM1, VM3 (0.45), VM4 (0.6), VM5 (0.2) and VM6 (0.15), regular R1 (0.8), ceramic R2 (1.0), TM2 (0.8) and the MTL TR1 (1.2). Alongside them sit the newer TPP series (DM1 0.15, DM2 0.2, DM3 and DM4) and Uforce coils in U2, U4 and N3 builds.

Aspire

Nautilus coils are one of the longest-running MTL series there is — we stock the original Nautilus (0.4 and 1.8), Nautilus 2S (0.4 and 0.7) and Nautilus X (1.5 and 1.8), plus Pockex coils in 0.6 and 1.2 and Cleito coils in 0.2 and 0.4.

Vaporesso

GTX coils in seven resistances from 0.15 up to 1.2 ohm — one of the widest spreads of any single series we carry — and GTI mesh coils in 0.2 and 0.4.

Uwell

Crown IV in 0.2, 0.23 and 0.4, Nunchaku in 0.25 and 0.4, Whirl 0.6, and Valyrian 2 in single mesh (0.32) and triple mesh (0.16).

Geekvape, Innokin, TECC, Freemax and Horizon Tech

When to change a coil — and how to break one in

A burnt or muted taste is the usual sign a coil has reached the end of its life rather than anything being wrong with the device or the liquid. Darkening e-liquid, gurgling and thin vapour are the other giveaways. When you fit a new coil, prime it: put a few drops of e-liquid directly on the wicking ports, fill the tank, and let it stand for around ten minutes before firing, so the cotton is fully saturated. Firing a dry coil even once can scorch the wick permanently.

Common questions

Are vape coils universal?

No. A coil fits the tank series it was designed for and nothing else — the model name matters, not the shape. Check the name printed on your tank, or bring it into a store and we will match it.

What do the ohms on a coil mean?

Resistance. Above 1.0 ohm points to mouth-to-lung vaping with nic salt or 50/50 liquids at lower power; below 1.0 ohm points to direct-to-lung vaping with high-VG liquids at higher power.

Which e-liquid should I use with my coil?

Plus-ohm coils pair with 50/50 and nic salt 10ml liquids. Sub-ohm coils are made for thicker high-VG liquid — using a thin 50/50 liquid in a sub-ohm coil tends to flood and gurgle, and high-VG liquid in a small plus-ohm coil wicks too slowly and burns.

How much do replacement coils cost?

Packs in this range run from £5.98 to £19.95, almost all in packs of two, three, four or five — which works out at roughly £2 to £4 per coil depending on the series.
